Sorry for your loss

Very sorry for your loss.

Isn't this jumping really a well-known issue with silvers that could be prevented? How much weight is on your tank's top? Just curious and for others to learn from.

I think only prevention is to get a bigger tank for him...

I hope this never happens to me. I have had plenty of fish hit the top but never over power my light bar.

Super sorry for your loss. You have rights to cry as much as you want man.

He did a 1-2 sort of thing. First jump knocked an opening, second one cleared it. I wasn't home obviously. I had a LOT of weight on the top, it was incredibly ugly actually, but it kept my beautiful Bob down... or so I thought. I'd say go for as much as you can do without breaking anything. Don't underestimate arowanas, don't make my mistake.

:cry::cry::cry::cry::cry:

Anyways, I've been crying all day. He had the tank all to himself, he actually had plenty of room.

Final measurements, 26 inches. Final weight was above 5 pounds. Looking at his body, I had never been so incredibly proud and sad at the same time. I've known him since he was tiny, half of my life has revolved around him. I honestly don't know what to do anymore.

He lost a scale during the jump though. I'm keeping it.

Can you guys think of anything I can do for him as a final tribute?
