:cry::cry: ok. does it sound a little sadder this time?
here some dodgy phone pics of my male dovii which jumped out 2 days ago. all pics was taken yesterday, but today i found him laying on his side, looks worse, should i do water change or leave it for the time being?

also should i try to make him stay upright or just let him laying on his side?

thanks for all the help and supports.
the smaller dovii in the pics is his partner standing by his side

Man does that suck. Do you know how long he was out of the tank? I would do a water change and add some salt.

Damn i am sorry to see and hear that about your nice dovii.
in my HUMBLE OPINION

I would not do a water change as any change in the current water perameters will add stress that i am sure he cant deal with at this time.

i would also try not to handle him for the same reasons.

if i remeber correctly from your other thread he was out for 45 min. i think after that point and all the things you have already done for him(the melaflix, etc.) the only thing you can really do is just wait and PRAY.

i am hoping for the best for you and your fish.

Just read the next post and he sounds like he knows more about the situation. If you've already added melafix, it is just a waiting game now. Maybe turn off the light and leave alone for awhile, to reduce the stress on fish.

Fob has a really good point by turning off the light... anything you can do to reduce stress is a +

Just a thought.... you might want to cover the tank. In hopes that your fish will just be still and not move around much. I know it is going to be hard not just starring at your tank. Cover and turn off lights. And you'll have to wait and see. Worse part of the waiting period. Good Luck to my friend.

I have seen a 5" trimac jump out survivor that looked WAY worse upon being put back in the tank. He lost most of his fins, but they all eventually grew back. He recovered 100% with almost no scarring. Keep the faith.

thanks guys.
yeah it's really hard not to watch the tank. i had a look today, and the damn fungus set in on all his dead fins, so i added some pimafix, well what else can i do apart from waiting.....

I had a Jag that got beat up by a larger jag and forced it out of the tank... I want to say it was on the ground for about 20-25 minutes...

I picked him back up and put him in a hospital tank i had already up and running for a jello cat i rescued from petco... added pimafix and melafix along with some formalin for the just incase, increased the oxygen by adding another sponge filter to the tank....

Remove your Carbon or your efforts will be wasted...

I kept the water temp @ 81 and didn't add salt until the wounds skined over...

did the daily dosing with the pimafix and melafix
did a 50% water change every 3 days...
Water was treated with prime..
my jag recovered in about 10 days and his fins grew back to full in about a month...

ooh ya i put a towel around the tank about 3/4 of the way across from when you walk in and didn't run a light for a week...
