besides their air breathing capabilities and body shape, there are barely any similarities. Bowfin have a round head shape compared to the flattened; pointy head of a sh. In addition, a bowfin's anal fin is quite small while the snakehead's is long and is about half the length of its body. their pelvic fins are located in different areas, and their jaw shape is tottally different.

are they considered to have the ability to decimated pond like snakeheads? Is there behavior or type of diet different? Im kinda interested in them now

I don't know the fish well but to me they seem like the american version, I know they are analogous not homologous.

i got three from tfd a couple weeks ago. 2 died and the biggest one is still living in a 10 gal. when he gets about 5-6 in hes goin in the 180
