You saved him from those little demons! When I put my Juruense in my tank last week after getting him in the mail my Red Texas tore off his tail completely, chipped his gill plate, and tore off his side fins. But now he is healing at an amazing rate. Don't use salt as catfish are very sensitive to salt and their skin will start falling off. When I made my thread asking for help as to how to heal my Juruense I was told just to keep the water clean. I got rid of the Red Texas and the 6 Silver Dollars that were in my tank and got a yellow Tail Barracuda which is much more peaceful and I think they are buddies
Good luck with your new cat!
jewel and discus will eat wiskers and tail extentionsLoshmitchell101;4745411; said:Thank You, overall this guy will be going into a 110 gallon with a 8 jewel cichlids, and
two discus, I dont know the exact word im looking for, but when I say his injury was
to his back fin, The only real damage was the long lash which was completely removed.
But even still two days later I can already see one that is no longer a open wound and two its starting to get a point again, which im very excited about, today we were a little successful with blood wors, but even still nothing was eaten until it was completely dark in the room and the tank lights were off. I imagine it will be pretty shy overall until its a little bigger, the only tank mate with it now is a 2'' rubber lip pleco and it already chases it away from the malaysian drift wood, its makes a hole directly under the wood and buries itself somewhat into the gravel and just keeps its head poked out. Mine is almost completely black you can see stripes but they are very faint. Do you normally lighten up or darken with age and size?
