Breaking News out of Florida!!!!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Why do I need to focus on the altercation? I strongly believe there never should've been one. It's neighborhood watch, not neighborhood stalk your prey. Legal or not, we've got man A creating an incident with not quit a man B. We could be talking about two twins and I'd feel the same way.

Is this serious right now? Y'all think it's ok to follow people in the middle of the night? Even today I might come swinging at you if you're someone I don't know approaching me in the dark. I want you all to just stand there and strike up a conversations with this stranger who approaches you, I'll see you on the ten o clock news, Just let me know what color flowers to send to your funeral. There's no way you're being unbiased if you think it's cool just because it's not illegal

Really? Wouldnt it be more prudent to say that if Martin had been polite and simply either answer Zimmermans questions - if he actually asked Martin in the first place - or respectfully declined to answer instead of bashing his head into the sidewalk? This could have been avoided if Martin simply told Zimmerman he was walking back to his step moms place from the store could it have not?

What ever you feel about the neighborhood watch is in fact irrelevant because there are no laws that say Zimmerman cant ask some one on PRIVATE property what they are up to. And yes, in Florida, even sidewalks are considered private property in gated communities. Of course we dont even know if Zimmerman even confronted Martin because he said, rather true or not, that Martin attacked him as he was walking back to his vehicle.

If I noticed some one following me I would either take evasive action if I could. If I couldnt I would turn and ask whats up. I would be on guard for sure but I wouldnt immediately start bashing their head into the sidewalk. What if that person was following you because you dropped your wallet?

I have NEVER said Zimmerman was innocent. Just from what we know which so far is what he claims happened and what the one eye witness has said and that is Martin was on top of Zimmerman smashing his head in. With JUST those two facts self defense is perfectly applicable IF Zimmerman did not start the physical altercation. As of right now we dont know who did because all we have is one persons word of how it started.

I would not be polite and neither would you. Cut the bs man

I carry a gun everywhere I go and because of that I have never been more polite, courteous and avoid confrontation as much as possible even if that means I look like a sissy. Id rather look like sissy then get into a situation that neither I nor the other person intended to be in.

Just because you're free to do something, doesn't mean you're free from repercussion.

For some reason I feel you'd shoot first and ask questions later. Just a vibe I get, granted its based on Internet postings over the years since I don't really know you. Truly just a vibe

Really? Thats odd. I consider my self an extremely responsible armed citizen.

Even though I believe one of the most important tools of self defense besides situational awareness is the ability to de-escalate a volatile situation, I will do what ever it takes to ensure that I get home to take care of my family. I completely understand that even if justified, homicide is never easy. Ones life would be changed forever.

I try my hardest to never put my self in a situation that may require the use of deadly force. Its much easier to be polite and courteous then it is to be a jerk, have some one respond in a physical manner and then have to justifiable use deadly force.

I can't help but wonder why Z had to get out of his vehicle in order to ask M about what it was he was up to...Seems to me had he not done that that he would not be able to claim he was jumped from behind and had his head bashed on the ground.

Because its legal apparently. Like I said, he may have the freedom to do so but hes not free of the consequence. Same as if you yell fire in a movie theater or talk about bombs on an airplane. Sure it's legal, doesn't mean you won't pay for it. Same here, this whole thing shouldve never happen regardless of what the laws allow

Hard to believe anyone can look at it subjectively and say Zimmerman did the right thing. An armed man leaving the protection of his car and going beyond his neighborhood watch duties
