Breeding Fish for Profit

Not much profit in angelfish.... Ive bred pinoy blue, Albino (2 kinds), pariabas, kois, German red Scarale(imported), getting in the albino crown angels from Mr. Wuddy in thailand soon.... and let me just say... very little profit in the angelfish field. You have three option... option 1..sell to pet store... option 2 sell to wholesalers..option three to sell online or maybe do all...Ive done all three... option one--you have to provide high quality angelfish at a price cheaper then their wholesaler to your pet store...so high quality at 1-2.00..not bad. Option two... you have to provide mass fishes that is cheaper then what they buy from vietnam, thailand, brazil, etc.... and most likely you cant... 0.35 was the most I got for my wholesale price and they said that was a dayem good deal on my part...not so good...but good enough when you're flooded on your part.... and option three sell online for dirt cheap.. if you can beat the prices of joegargas and hy12001, go for it...They got quality fishes at low prices... ok ok ok..but wait!... your gonna be better then them with higher quality and cheaper price right? maybe like angelsplus, mellow aquatics, Neil oyama, ken kennedy, etc....right? if so... you best know your genetics...take notes... seperate your frys into colors, size etc... take notes again...have some angels in high lightings, some in low lightings..take notes again... feed some with some special food formulated for colors, some on regular...take notes again, and it just keeps going until you gotta nice strain and can repeat it if you want too.....tons of work bro bro... if you can beat anyone of these three option... youre on youre way to making as much as them... maybe less maybe more... and if all you want is just a fish tank or two to make cash... bro.. your electrical bill, brine shrimp eggs, water bills, etc... will cost more then your one to two batch of frys per month.. dont even get started and just find yourself a part time job at a fish store.... my two cents heres my fish room with tons of koi angels... I now have more and is still not seeing the profit people are fantasizing about.... and also video is just showing the frys.. and not much adults... so you must also have a few pairs to get you started...

Ya man I understand the work is hard and ya I can beat other people's prices I just want like $40 Adleast a month just enough to expand the hobby. I am willing to take time And notes and there are about 4 Lfs by me I could sell too.

Just watched your video and that is very impressive. You have clearly put hard work and dedication into that fry room you should be very proud of what you are doing. I have a couple questions first is what size takes are you using to grow out fry and what size are your adults in. Also what kind of filters are you using?

Using just sponge filters nothing else.... frys are grown out in 20's, 55's, 75's, anything I can place frys into if I have a large order ahead of time... and I have six 330 gallon totes in the garage heated for the rest of the frys that is not on the video....the more 330 gallon totes you can fit in the garage the better... I can only fit 6, but most of the time.. I only need 4....and yes that is my parking space the totes are taking up... the wife wouldnt let me take her parking space...

Haha that last part is funny. So do you find it easy to get rid of fry? Also should expecting $40- $200 a month be over expecting for Adleast two pairs?

My lfs sells calico angels all day long. They call them "koi" angels and people buy the **** out of them for 15$ a pop. It takes up less space since they are ready for purchase at 2" and you don't need to worry about breeding for A grade fry. The different colors and patterns is what makes people want to waste money on them.
