would those work in a 55g? i know Koi get purty big
Yeh, plenty of room. Buy some eeg create from lowes, make it so the tank is in 4 sections. Go to aqua-bid and look for the hot auctions

Ive bred Koi in pond before and theres no way your going to spawn or even house an adult pair in a 55 gallon tank.
My personal choice would be Red Bay snooks....they sell for $30.00 and usually bring at least 8 to 10 bones each..they are fairly simple to breed and quite prolific once you get everything right
An adult pair can easilly have 300 fry.

yea i thought koi got purty big. I dont think my LFS's carry the snook, Are they hard to breed? I need to get 2 fish that i know are M/F and WILL breed, everything would be so much easier if my RB would jus breed

i suggest a job dude. y isnt it an option? then make cash, buy fish then breed

i dont have a car...Im really only looking for $20-50 per batch of fry. Sellin 4x4 parts gets most bills paid

breeding fish, unless on a large industrial scale usually is not a practical way to make money. if you really want to try, set up some salty tanks and see if you get lucky with damsels or clowns. thats where the money is nowadays it seems. but if you do that and fail, its a lot of money down the crapper. for freshwater, I think you could make more money off fancy guppies than convicts

if your looking for a cichlid, thats easy and really no start up cost, i would say jack dempseys, sell for more than con's
although you know you will need more tanks for the grow out stages

Making money breeding fish is difficult at best. If compatable pairs are simple to identify and easy to breed then you can be sure that 100 other people are doing it and that the price per fish...when they can be sold ...is going to be really low.

Additionally is fairly easy to saturate your available market once you have everything set up correctly and producing. Commercial breeders make up for this by shipping to other areas. That's difficult to do in a home situation.
