Brought home a bamboo shark

Watch the reddedned belly due to substrate, very prone to septecemia. Not uncommon for Juvi to stop eating when tranferred to new tank. Try feeding fresh shrimp from feeding stick, be patient. Once he starts eating watch out, mine ate some rather expensive tank mates from time to time. good luck

Thanks, but you should read through all the post.... I tried shrimp, he wouldn't touch it. So far he's ate a piece of squid and that's it. He has not touch the pieces of squid that are in the tank.
 
give him time. keep using the tweezers or feeding stick. my banned only seemed to eat a little at time too. you could try garlic, it may help my 7 gill goes nuts for it. i would also take the left over pieces out. it easier to keep track of how much he is eating that way.
 
Ive never seen a bamboo turn down squid. Keep with that. Wiggle it at the waters edge.

At the water's edge? So you want him to come up to the top of the water? I've been putting it all the way to the bottom just in front of me.
 
Good news guys. I was going to feed my rays some of the squid and figured what the heck I'll try the shark again. Lately I've been trying once it gets darker. He grabbed the squid from the tweezers right away. I tried again and he did it again, even more aggressively. I went to try another piece and dropped it and he ate it off the bottom. I gave him 5 or so piece. I didn't want to over feed him, so I'll give him a few more pieces later today.

I'm guessing he had to just settle in for a little while. Got him on the 21st and on the 31st he finally started to eat. I'll be putting him in my 150 gallon shortly, do you guys think I may have the same problem?

Thats all he needed,and if it happens again when you move him it should'nt be a big deal.
