Brown water issues

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
That's good to hear atleast your not trying to justify why there fine in this tank ?.

I think your going to struggle to keep them this way for 6 months even if you manage to keep the water good just the stress of the confined space may cause immune system problems.

I fully understand you not wanting to let fish go is there no way to temporarily rehome them untill you get moved and set up.

well I talked to my lfs, they have a 350 with an albino pacu and 2 RTC. He said he can keep them there but he won’t be responsible if they die.. and he wasn’t super excited but I’ve spent A LOT in there so I think he’d be willing to let me twist his arm. I’ll have to see.

The 125 would be better but still not ideal in the long run.

These fish have some potential to pack on a bit more size in the next 6 months.

Personally I feel your going to have problems in them 6 months with current stock levels and tank sizes.
Wish me luck lol, thank you for the advice

Yeah check it out if it's some where you trust than I don't see there been an issue when I worked at my lfs we used to do this sort of thing a lot for people.

Lots of good responses and updates. Depending where you live the Ohio Fish Rescue might be willing to take the RTC and the Pacu. Might be worth a shot, though good you are checking with your Lfs.

I’ve seen pacu as large as 3 feet long or more in public aquariums and the Cat as large as 4 feet. When I was a kid I loved my pacu but had to get rid of him very quickly.

Yea I watch them all the time on YouTube, it won’t be necessary for us. We may actually be moving by the end of September so I’m going to move some fish around and switch them over to the 125. Fingers crossed they should be ok until then. We’re getting two pretty substantial tanks they will surely be happy in. (One peaceful and one “aggressive” set up)
