Bruce!

The newest rescue, as of today. This one caught me off guard, lol.
I got a txt while in class with a pic of a Kitten, and it said "Meet Jack!".
This was of course from my mother, and as it turns out, in a way, I rescued him. A woman that I had rescued some fish from (There were no specific details) had a friend of hers trying to get rid of some of her Kittens that the mother Cat had recently given birth to. (9 weeks old) The Cat was a rescue for them, and they were not aware of it being pregnant at the time.
A liter of babies later, and they noticed that one of them was... different.
He was missing his toes on one of his back legs, which was most likely just a... "forming" issue, while inside the mother. (One of the cords must have been wrapped around the foot to prevent any toes from growing on that certain foot)
So, they adopted them out, and all that was left was this little guy; Jack. He had been in the paper for three-weeks, and no one had wanted him because he was missing his toes, so the family was going to have to bring him to a rescue, which would have put him down. They could not keep him due to a pet keeping rule at the apartment. (No more than one Cat)
When they found out that we rescue fish, they thought they'd try to get a-hold of my mother, and sure enough, she headed out to pick-up the little guy, and now we have another Cat in the family. :)
Long story, lol.
This is not something I normally do, but this was a life or death situation, and obviously we were this little guys on hope.
And last, but not least; pics! (He is a lot more active than he looks in the pics, lol, just taking a break ;))

I suppose I'll give a small update by answering a few questions.
#1 Where are the Big Tanks?!
We haven't had any donations, out of the two that said they would, but never did. Sounds like I'll be spending close to $200+ for a new tank instead. ;)
#2 How is the Kitten!
He seems to be doing well, and is actually a she! Yeah, turns out the owners probably could have cared less about her. Her foot was severed, she was not born that way. Her name is Tripz. (Take a guess as to why) :)
And finally, the questions that is asked non-stop #3 How is Bruce doing?
Bruce is doing amazingly well with the other Oscars. Very little aggression despite his size compared to theirs. His HITH is almost nothing as compared to what it was, but you can still see small signs of it. And no, there has not been any spawning activity between him and the larger female. ;)

Hope that answers a few questions; we are still taking in rescues, and hopefully next time I post an update I will have some shots of a new 200-Gallon Tank!

Brady:

My, we have been busy haven't we. Looks like you're going to need another building to house your zoo. Really many nice new fish since I last PM'd you back in July. I am really proud of your success with all of these new fish you've rescued.

Your parents deserve copious amounts of credit as well. It truly is nice to see your parents support you so much with your fish rescue hobby.

I took your suggestions in wanting to start a fish rescue, but my first tank being a 110 gal. put an immediate end to it when my anal retentive landlord saw it in my front room and sarcastically asked, "Your not setting this up in the house, are you?" I replied to him it was my intention. Well the conversation turned out to long to post here and ended up with an ultimatum of either live here with NO tanks set up, or eviction and no deposit refund. Well, I'm still here and the tank is still dry. Currently looking for a better place to live, but the L.L. don't know it, yet.

It's good to see you back on the MFK sight. Thanks for sharing all of the splendid up dates and photo's and it's really great to see BRUCE is doing terrific. If you are suprized any fry from your family of fishes, keep us informed. Especially if your JD's have a spawn of fry. I would not be quite bit surprized if they would not turn out to be as beautiful as your two adult JD's.

Again thanks for sharing all the updates and photo's. I'm truly looking forward for the next ones.

Hello David,
lol, I still have plenty of room in the basement! :D
And thank you, I appreciated the kind words, as usual. ;)

My parents always tell me that's it's better than doing drugs and what not, so that would be one of the main reasons as to why they support my "love" for the hobby so much. Plus, it's really my only hobby, lol. And I'm thankful for that, and they know it as well. :)

Sorry to hear. But I do wish you luck in finding a new, and better, location to live! Be sure to let me know if you ever find a new area, and get that tank up and running. ;)

Just let me know when you want an update! Anyone can do that if they want as well. I haven't had too many things going on at the moment with the rescue though; other than trying to get a large tank still. But I'm confident that we will find one sooner or later. Just needs a little bit of time, and patience. :)

Just a few quick shots of the 10 year old Tilapia rescue. Currently being housed alone with his fin nipping issue. (First post here http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=304225&page=4 ) Tried my best with the photos, but they're not the best.
As I said before, hopefully I'll have better news of a larger tank soon; then I would be able to get a few more clearer shots of the rescues in the "pond".

Brady, you're doing a great job. I will be subscribed to this thread to follow up on your updates. All the best and thanks for sharing.
Thank you NightStorm. :)

I've had multiple people ask for an update on the pond, and I finally took some pics while I was filling it up a little more. (200 Gallons later, lol) It's been a month since being setup, and I am surprised as to how well it is doing, and how clear the water still is. Everyone seems to be happy, and doing well. :)
Still looking for that large tank, but for now, this will have to do!
And I did manage to get a shot of Bruce and his girl. :D (Notice how well his HITH is doing!) And can anyone guess the fish in the last pic? (Nothing special, actually fairly Common... ;))
