Bruce!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Thats a frontosa, and a nice one.. :) Sorry my mistake!

Because of a PM, I thought that I would post some update pics of Bruce and his HITH, which has improved. First pic is of when we first got him. Notice how the HITH used to go all of the way up to his dorsal fin. ;)
And I apologies for the crappy photos. I haven't fed him yet, so he wont stay still for the camera, lol.

I like this thread :D

Wow!
The HITH looks to be improving. It's not as "white" now.
Can't believe this is the first time I have seen this thread.
Really inspirational.
Good job!

Got a new update, and with a new update, comes a new rescue. :D
Today the Fish Sanctuary didn't actually rescue any fish, how ever I did end up rescuing another creature of some sort. ;)
A Tortoise! Looks to be a Russian Tortoise as well. And the story behind him...
His original owner didn't want him anymore, so he thought, "Lets drop him off at the pond!". A different family that was there saw this man at the pond getting ready to release his Tortoise when they quickly approached him, and asked if they could just take him. (Seems how releasing him in in the wild, in Wisconsin, by a pond, would most likely end with death) They took him back to their place, but could not care for him. They pretty much just wanted to make sure he wasn't released.
So my mother, who paints bedrooms, kitchens, etc. for a 2nd job, came across this family, told them about the rescue, and they asked her if I could take the Tortoise. And that is how I ended up with this guy. ;)
It's a male, they named him Clyde, lol, so Clyde it is! And I don't say this about a lot of things... other than my 28 pound Orange Tabby :D... he's cute. His "beak" is a little over grown, so I added some slate that he can eat off of to help trim it a little bit. I have to stop at the LFS for substrate, etc. tomorrow. Right now he is just in a 35-Gallon with a piece a fleece.
And finally, pics of Clyde. :)

Wow! That oscar is getting healed perfectley. Glad to see it. That oscar sure likes you. I love that old Tortoise

it might be a good idea to bring clyde to a vet to get him checked out, russians are primarily wild caught and as such can sometimes carry parasites
