Build of my 1850 g tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
The use of edpm liner and A4 stainless frame has been used with succes earlier by friends. I know of two 10 000 liter tanks built this way. Mine is 7000 liters something.

The product is ms-polymer based , elastic glue/bonding and sealer that is fishsafe. There are similar products out there. ive used something called tec7 for edpm rubber liner.

Pay attention that i use edpm liner and not cheap pvc liner

Yes the holes are countersunk and so on.
Once again, fix &seal between liner and frame. Then screw it into position. Then a thick seam fix & seal on frame. Press the glass until the seam smoothen out a bit. I have about 3-4 mm thick sealant between frame and glass.

Then a seam around the whole glass sides
Wow. This is outstanding. I have literally just started thinking about doing a build very similar to this. You have already answered a few of my questions.

I have acquired a pond liner with dimensions that would do a pond with very similar dimensions as to what you built here. I was going to add a bit more floor space and not as much height. But was also wanting 2 viewing windows similar to what you have.

how thick of glass are you using for your panels?

Since i have splitted front windows. And the glass only reach as deep as 80 cm from surface i use 15 mm thick glass. Same preassure as i had in my other tank that were 80 cm in height
