Building a 1500 Gallon plywood & glass tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Wow ....... now I know when I start my plywood and glass tank I will know where to look for help! Your a great inspiration to fish keeper around the world!

What are you feeding those cichlids they look amazing?

Thanks..

To be honest those will be the only cichlids I am keeping as they don't appear to be all that bent on killing everyone they live with. The rest of the critters will be mostly the larger community type of the fish. The pictus, tinfoil barbs, 2 ID sharks (still babies) a red tail cigar shark (Still a baby), pink tail chaelous (Babys still), Tig (12"), watermelon pleco, 50 Clown loaches (Only 6 are big enough) and a few other oddball fish. All the baby fish will stay in my 300 gallon tank until they are big enough to avoid the 3" drains of doom.

The future list of fish is still open. Looking to add a ray, a Fly river turtle, and whatever else I stumble across that might need a home.

Feeding the chiclids? lol funny you should ask. They have been living in the old sump with the Tig and have been eating OSI flakes, krill, and goldfish (When they can catch em). I was surprised to see how well they colored up in the new tank and how fast as well.

I am sure they are all looking around thinking they just won the lottery.. lol

The top is not double paned just a single layer of material.

The new sump extension will be added tomorrow morning.

LOL @ "chiclids" Aren't those the tiny little gum things? Oh wait, that's chiclets!

Cichlids :D

Kinda sucks that fly river turtles are CITES II and can't be imported in to the US nor exported without CITES certification. Good luck on finding one. It would look cool in your tank.
