Ok maybe its just my background but some kid threatens to have my daughter raped, the schools/cops/kids parents get one shot at locking the bully(s) up for a very long time, if not the coroner is going to have new decorations in his office. And not just the bully, but the bully's whole family. You can't spawn that kind of scum and think wash your hands of it.

I've got no remorse period when it comes to potential threats to my loved ones. You kill the whole family to one) make sure that the bad genes, raising, etc doesn't get passed on and more importantly two) to make the punishment of the crime carry such weight that few would try it. As we all know in America prison is soft on people and three) you make sure that no one is left to retaliate against you. If the cops and courts won't protect the people they are sworn to serve we should take matters into our own hands. Why should our tax dollars go to protect and coddle those that would harm our families? Yeah it sounds draconian but its time to actually start punishing the monsters in our society rather than give them a slap on the wrist.

Interesting statements to hear coming from Mr. Anti-Negativity. I can't imagine how anyone, without a mental deficiency of some kind, could so easily contemplate taking a person's life (let alone an entire family's) because of what a relative of theirs did. Hypothetically speaking, if my family consists of a soup kitchen volunteer, a Harvard graduate who is researching cures for multiple high-risk forms of cancer, a 105 year old woman who volunteers her time at a church nursery, 25 children ranging from 1 month old to 13 years old, a few teenagers who, when not studying and going to school to keep up their 5.0 gpa's, go on mission trips to rebuild houses for those who have been made homeless by natural disasters, and one 21 year old guy who snapped one day for no apparent reason and decided to go rape someone, should we all face the death penalty, including Great Great Grandma, who probably wouldn't even remember who this guy was?

This logic is absolutely idiotic, and if you are serious, then you have some real issues with self-centeredness that you should probably discuss with a professional.

frank hall is the guy that charged down the gunmen. he is my cousin. i know him and his family real well and he is a hero for what he did which was save more lives that would have most deff been lost. he was under a gag order but not anymore and gave a interview at 4.00pm today so you should see it on one of the news channels

Yeah you guys are right. Sorry. I had a ptsd moment. A good friend of mine was raped and it just flipped. Sorry I crossed that line. :)

And as far as a talking to a professional. Go get blown up to the point you get brain damage including 6-7 massive migraines a day and you can't remember how to find your own car without the help of a dog, get attacked multiple times, get burned pulling people out of numerous fires, have glass still imbedded in you from car bombs, all while trying to tend to the the injured and dieing in a battle field then come talk to me about talking to a professional. So yes, I do talk to a professional. The VA takes very good care of me.

And as far as a talking to a professional................

anger is a coping mechanism. it feels more survivable than pain :-/
So, doc- is the dog in your pic a trained helper or just a good dog who likes to get in the car w/you ..and likes watching fish?

Very true but its more basic than that. As a combat medic a lot of my job was up close with people who were just trying to kill me a few minutes before or my friends. On top of that we rarely saw enemies in any kind of uniform. I've seen them play the, "Hey, I'm dressed as an old woman boom..." game, the one where they push a kid in front of a convoy of 18 wheelers so the trucks hit the kid, chaos ensues, followed with an ambush, dead donkey stuffed with explosives, little kid with explosives, etc. So, over time I became very distrustful and violent as a result of everyone. And after a while living like that its almost like being a wild animal and my brain will never fully rewire to adapt to "normal" life again.

As far as the dog she's my service dog. That was taken at the NC Aquarium at Ft. Fisher on a marine bio class trip. She can anticipate my panic attacks before I can feel them and help to mitigate them. She also picks up on the hearing stuff I miss and alerts me (cars, people, etc.). Previous semesters when I have had multiple classes she could remember which classes were in which building and what order. IF we showed up on time we were good to go. :) She remembers where the car is parked or the house is depending on where we are. Like a 50lbs pooping gps. Also, she helps to wake me from nightmares and when I flip out and I'm just raging, yelling, and screaming on the verge of hurting someone.

Ya, I didn't intend to over simplify anyones' experience. That's just something that helped me be more willing to deal with certain things. Deliberate misrepresentation of who/what someone is, in order to harm is pretty hardcore violation. All that does kill trust & change wiring, but things can improve over time. Bad as it is, it's more hopeful than when it happens during early child development. Even severe head trauma can improve. Adults already have strengths to compensate with, whereas in a babe, that can prevent the formation of those things.

THAT's a darn smart dog, knowing class order. LOL. cool. sounds like a great asset. and pretty too! Looks like a sweetie. Did the VA provide her? she looks like a mix breed. :)

What u do and have done make u a great person.please love and respect that dog because when no ones there she will be:(:D:(:(:(:(

We are raising kids to be pansys. The bully problem is blown waaaaaaay out of proportion

No way man. I think everyone who feels bullying isn't really a problem and those kids should just "man up" are almost as bad as the bullies themselves. If you feel that way, you deserve to get punched in the face by a bully to see how it feels. If you're blaming the victim instead of the bully, you're part of the problem. You're going to end up raising punk kids who at worst are bullies themselves and at best see nothing wrong with other kids getting tormented at school.

It's easy to say that those kids should fight back and stand up for themselves. But not everyone is as tough as you'd like them to be or as tough as you think you are. For some 12 year old kid getting bullied, it's easy to tell him to fight back, but how are you gonna fight back against a kid bigger than you? Most adults would be afraid to be in a fight with someone bigger too. So it's not cowardice but a natural reaction.

I was the only Asian kid in my school for a few years. I went to school with mostly Hispanic kids who bullied me a lot. When it's 1 bully vs. 1 kid, yeah the kid has a chance to win. But when it's 7 bullies and the bully's friends who are picking on you and saying things about your race and hitting you, how do you fight back against that? Now that I'm older and put on some weight/muscle, I tell myself that I would've fought back. But back then I was just a skinny kid. In all those years since, I spent so much time being depressed and wishing I could react differently. And now people are saying it's the kid who's getting picked on that's to blame? No. I just get so angry when people try to lay blame on the bully victim instead of the bully.

I read an article saying that Asian kids (like me) are the most bullied group in American schools. Check this out: http://abclocal.go.com/ktrk/story?section=news/local&id=8551103 So this topic really hits home for me because it wasn't just me but a bunch of kids like me (immigrants) who had to deal with this daily. Bullying is a serious problem. Just look at the data to see it instead of pretending it's no big deal and kids should get over it. It affects a lot of those kids for a lifetime.
