It's all about how they swim to me, so obviously silvers/blacks are my favorite.
i agree i like that their so active back and forth all day long

I like them cuz there kinda strange and otherworldly looking with the barbels. I also like that they never stop moving there back and forth and back and forth and back and forth and back and forth and back and forth all day long. They swim like there king of the tank and usually they are.

To me it doesnt even have to be an asian aro.. Give me a majestic 15 inch or bigger black aro swimming in at least a 6 foot long tank... It gives the tank an aura of a fierce creature thats very powerful but at the same time very graceful. True monsters that dominate the top of the tank.

You really cant appreciate an aro in pictures and even in LFS.. You have to see one properly housed and nurtured. Or it could be just that aros just arent your cup of tea... it happens. Like some people are just into guppies and platies and other folks are obssessed with 2 ft monsters... Its all good though.

I like pretty much every fish. If I can only keep a fathead, then that is what I will keep.

Arowana are very calm and graceful swimmers, always at or near the top so you can see them, and are just plain good looking. I will Arowana bash a little with you though, although they are pretty nice I don't think it's worth it to have a 180 gallon or larger for a silver or black arowana, they're just not good enough to be worth it in my personal opinion, Asians and Australians are a different story, don't know if African aros are worth it, and Green Asians are just borderline worthwhile. And I'm not talking about prices, just what I like personally.

Here in Brazil we have a saying: Nose and taste, everyone has one!!
For example, i don't like dats and perches! but i respect the person who likes!

Here in MN we have a saying, "He who doesn't appreciate the things that you do are probably wrong." Or maybe that's just me.

Here in the US we have a similar saying. it goes " Different Strokes for Different Folks" .. I agree... its mostly personal taste. For example, we have one annoying member here ( i wont say its Neoprodigy ) but hes all into Albinos and rare morphs. I cant say i like everything he likes but i respect it. ;)

I think even a silver arowana is beautiful, its face/mouth, it's shape, it's elegant swimming style. They are all beautiful.

I think a discus is ugly, with a stupid little face, an aro is 100 x better looking.

Also arowanas are intelligent with character, discus have no intelligence and personality.
