One thing I have found in my experience is when something like that breaks, it seems it is 10,000 times more likely to fail in the same spot.
Maybe Im not a risk taker, but that is a big tank and holds lots of water....and a spill that big is a mess anywhere...
if i were you i would try and find a thinner walled tube than 40 to lessen the restriction if you are putting it on the inside.

Pentair just got back to me and it will be $105 + S&H. I think I'll just order a new one from Big Al's then I'll have an extra ballast, bult, quartz sleeve and etc. To buy a bulb alone is $50 or more.
I love kids.
Again I appreciate all of the help but I just fear the thing leaking or breaking again when I'm not home or sleeping.
