Cool article. Personally I dont think we'll find intelligent life outside Earth though, I think we're special :grinno:

If we are the only upright beings in the WHOLE universe. It makes "life" the rarest event in existence. Therefore just being born is more rare than winning the lottery! And moreover it is more "unlikely" to obtain a human life than to win the lottery everyday of your life from now on...:) (this is fact ;))

I agree that life is rare, although I tend to think of it more like a gift. But I definetly think that for one to think that life just "popped" up would be extremley unlikely, however I dont think its logical to think that because there is life in one place-it must be in another. Enjoy the fact that you a rare, unique creation. :D

When life gets tough, I do remind myself of this all the time! 75 years is so so short :( And it goes by FAST!!!!

I think there is other life out there, doesnt have to be in 'human' form, but with the VAST expanse of space.

That would be nice, but think about how long eternity is. This is not intended to make anyone mad but....Eternity and infinity are synonymous. When else does infinity apply besides to how long we "hope" our souls exist?

Just because the universe is vast doesnt increase the odds of life one bit. This is how I think about it, imagine that I took a grain of sand and dyed it red, and carved my initials on it. If I threw that grain of sand on a beach, and someone came along and found it, could they then think that because there are SO many more grains of sand that they could find another one like it?

Sounds like you believe in a creator.

The universe is vast, endless. I do think life is rare but I don't believe this is the only planet with it.
