Sounds like you believe in a creator.

The universe is vast, endless. I do think life is rare but I don't believe this is the only planet with it.

Specifically because they found rocks on Mars that look to have dead bacteria on it, and a lot of scientists believe a meteor smashed into mars and chunks of mars made it to earth, with bacteria on it.

I do believe in a creator, but I think there is a possibility of life out there. I don't believe it would be anything like a human or a life that has organized in such a way humans have.

But why wouldn't God create life on Mars or elsewhere.... Perhaps humans will one day have the capasity and ability to inhabit mars and what if a life form on Mars helps make that possible.

Who really knows is the real point (untill something definitive is found there will always be question) ....... a lot of stuff out there.

Great, a planet possibly capable of supporting life. I'm sure we'll start seeing troll posts from there, and that's a whole new set of IP's to check. :irked::D

That is assuming that they have radio communication capabilities, or have not far exceeded us on to a "newer" more advanced means of communication that is beyond our capabilities to comprehend.....:grinno:

Just because the universe is vast doesnt increase the odds of life one bit. This is how I think about it, imagine that I took a grain of sand and dyed it red, and carved my initials on it. If I threw that grain of sand on a beach, and someone came along and found it, could they then think that because there are SO many more grains of sand that they could find another one like it?

I think there is probably life beyond earth. Think about this. There is a dust mite under your bed right now that is going to live his whole life there. He may explore other pieces of dust, but to him, that is all that exists. He has no idea that there is a street in front of your house. He will never come in contact with a raccoon or a squirrel. That dosen't mean that there is no such thing as a squirrel, it is just way too far away, on his scale, to ever even dream of such a being.
The distance we as humans have explored is the same as the dust mite exploring the underside of a bed. There is so much out there, it is impossible to rule out the possibility of other life(IMO). Our entire galaxie could be a piece of dust under a bed in a world that we will never know of.

To me all theses new planet finds are kind of depresssing....they are hundreds of light years away...meaning that its impossible to ever get to travel to one or have a any contact with them to even see if there is possibly life. if only there was a way to travel faster then the speed of light...or to divide by 0.

i personally don't believe in a creator....it might be my small-mindedness or just me looking at stuff with too much logic. but since i don't then there is no doubt in my mind that there must be other life. the number or GALAXIES is upwards of 125 billion...not to mention in our galaxy there are billions of planets...think about it there must be quintillions of planets for a possibility of life on...surely at least one besides Earth must have some form of life on it.

but we will never know for sure because of the great distances within the universe...

I'm not (necessarily) ruling out life, all though I dont believe that there is life out there, and it also depends on how people define the "intelligent" part. M point is simply that the argument that the vastness of the universe automatically means thats there has to be life out there, simply is not logical. You may FEEL like that makes sense, and I wont argue with that, but that really is not any sort of evidence for your point.

I find it interesting that you are ready and willing to accept that there just "is" life out there, even though there isnt proof of it, and that you personally believe that we wont really be able to discover it even if it was out there, but you are hesitant to possibly accept the idea that maybe our planet is the only one with life ("intelligent") on it. Is it that hard to think that maybe we are unique?
