Fantastic work bud!!

I like the organized colors

Yup, you could filter like 5 more 240 gallon tanks and Sea World with that haha.

Great Work!

If the job at Seven Seas Aquarium doesn't pan out, I am certain Sesame Street could use your color organizing skills.

I got the sump half way full of scrubbies and I thought to myself, " You couldnt just leave them in the mesh bags like everyone else now, could you?" I have to admit though, it sure is purty.

Hell Yeah. I'm gunnu put this puppy to work!

Sump cost-

Tank-Free
Acrylic fittings and pieces-Free
filter tray-$11
BioTray-$11
Scrubbies-$160
PVC-No Clue.....less than $100 (Been back and forth to Lowes and HD too many times to remember....)

Grand Total= Under $300 :naughty:

Nice OCD styling with the scrubbies. I'm not even that bad. LOL

Ok, well I've set up the plumbing and a few other things.

Also, the filter tray in the sump is temporary until I make the real one. It should look like the one I made for my 55 gallon sump (You can see the tray to my 55 gallon sump in the background of the second to last picture).

Made a couple extra separators for the tank. The suction cups were like 99 cents for 20.
They are Christmas light holders and they work perfect. The checkered lighting tray snaps right into them like a glove.

I sealed in the acrylic pieces that hold in the bubble sponge.

Also finished up the filter sock and the rinse hose.

There is a ball valve to regulate flow into the sock. Also threw a coupling in there.
I also T'd off a .5" hose with a ball valve. This is for maintenance. When I need to clean the sump it will come in handy. I can shut off the flow to the tank with a ball valve. Then I open up the cleaning hose valve. What I can then do is use that hose to stir out that sediment that collects underneath the scrubbie tray. The pump pumps it right into the sock. It should come in handy.:naughty:

Here is a shot of the pump. As you can see I T'd off and capped a piece. This is for later on down the road when I decide to multiplumb. And you can also see the ball valve towards the top to shut off flow to the tank for when I rinse out the sump. The pump is a Dolphin 1/15 HP.

Here's the back.

Shot of the left and right side of tank. As you can see, it's smack dab in the middle of the room.....

And here's a shot of the plumbing for the flow into the sump. I decided to keep it simple. I have 4 drains flowing into 6 holes.
Once I start up the pump and have a look at the water flow, I will most likely be putting in reducers on the right and middle outlets to even out the water flow.
Again, the filter tray is a ghetto, temp tray..
And I still have to cut the cover for the sump.

I anyone has any comments, suggestions, or questions, please feel free.

Also, forgot to mention, the stand was made able to be disassembled. Not going to get in detail. But it as composed of 5 sections.
Each section is permanently held together with screws (& 20 permanent Lag Bolts) and those sections are then held together with 18 very large detachable bolts .
This way, the stand can be taken out of the room easily when needed.

Just a couple quick shots.

Wow..... This is one powerful pump.......Even after bypassing into the sock and the ball valve ...

And it sounds like I have a freakin' water fall running through my fish room. I need to remedy this lol..

I'm not sure of how to take care of the tube sucking sound. If it were an overflow box, I would use a dorso. Not sure if I could do something like that here.
The water volume flowing through the pipes it is fairly large.
I need to silence it without constricting the water flow. Anyone have any ideas? You can see what I have set up in pic #3/post#126.

The rest of the noise is caused from the water rushing through the the sump. I think I can take care of that a bit.
