I'm sry to interrupt but I don't quite get it.. the sump will always be full of water, right? cause the flow to the sump is by gravity so if there's a power failure, the water in the sump will eventually flow out.. Sry, I'm confused.. correct me if I'm wrong.. I think I'm missing the whole idea here.. what's an air lifter?zennzzo;2352871; said:Yup it is an overflow system...
Now if there is a power failure, the pump stops pumping water into the tank, so there is no water to overflow into the sump...when the power restores, then the pump will start to overflow the tank, the air-lifter starts the syphon in the overflow box and everything is back running again...
