If they've not seen a bullsnake, then they haven't been looking. Prior to this post, you didn't know what one looked like so how would you know if you saw one? Not trying to be a smart #$# but snakes don't "go south" they brumate (AKA hibernate). They're snakes not geese. On the rattler note we agree, there are LOTS of C. atrox (diamondback rattlers) in your area as well as prairie rattlers.
