Thankyou for using your brain! the first cichlid definately not a texas or jack! god dammit people. dunno about robertsoni though. sticking to a thorichthys of some kind

the only thing that has me stumped is that there is no eye spot on the operculum
 
the fisrt looks lile some hybrid, the second is excichlasoma grammodes called mini dovii
 
Isn't that a African cichlid in the first photo?I can't remember the name, but it grows 6 inches and one of the most aggressive Africans that it can't be with any tank mates.
 
^nope you might be thinking of the five star jewel or a jewel cichlid. first pic looks in the same family as a firemouth so i agree with the thoricthys statement. The second one everyone already seem to peg down. But the missing eye spot near the gill slit is a stumper. Like previously stated its a usual trait with fish of that family
