can exodon really go in a 29 gallon?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I'd get the standard 29 gallon.

I have the standard myself. 10 fit in there nicely. maybe 15 tops. these guys need the room to swim man. even if its just 1exodon the standard 29 or 30 is barely long enough. they like good water quality so best not to over populate. I change 20% every 3 to 4 days. take the advice to work in an aquarium store part time. I did myself all through the 90's. painted cars in a bodyshop daytimes and worked in an aquarium store nites and weekends. helped pay a mortgage and raise my son and with the discounts at work, helped keep me in a hobby with some of the best equipment. plus the friends I met workin there cant even be measured. many I still hang around with today.

I can't find somewhere to hire me so I can't get a job, I think I just won't get the exodon, I just really looking for something that would be cool/good in that tank

The best way to get a job while young is to not look for a job. Ironic I know. What I mean is to have a hobby which you have and show a passion for it. Learn everything you can, learn more then employees know. You like fish? Learn more then a fish stores employees. Always be in there. Occasionally bring up the fact that you wouldn't mind having a job and are just looking for a little pocket money. If you are more knowledgeable then their own employees and you're a minor then the store benefits to gain you. They can pay you less and you'll know more then the employee it got rid of or the ones that they have.
It isn't a quick way but it works in the long run.

whats wrong with settling for 8 to 10 of them? keep ur tank throw some low light plants in, couple high ones each side and some low to mids like crypts or undulate in the middle. throw a few anubias and java ferns on the driftwood. gives em some room to maneuver some places to hide and they do better when they feel comfortable. even my 10 give a hell of a display at feeding time. I have more fun with them than my piranha tank. mine even enjoy good quality fake foods. I got mine at big als in Vaughn. they were excellent quality fish. they get them in quite often.

Ok thanks, I just hear they should be in groups of 20 or more in order to get a frenzy like feeding

fisheads right that's exactly how I got my job at the store. just showing passion and I learned fast was enough for him to think it was worth the effort to take a small risk on a guy

Only 3 local fish stores near me, 1 I have applied to but haven't heard back (I know the owner though and he is really nice), the other one the owner is an ******* and got cocky with me everytime I asked a simple question (like what a type of food is that's in a container that isn't see through or tankmates when I see something I haven't seen before), and the other one is a pet supplies plus which says they only hire at 16, seriously it just seems like nobody wants to hire me, even places asking for work don't want to

u know what?? I always get mine started in a frenzy b4 I throw the food in. I tap on the glass goin back and forth get em all worked up and circling then throw the food in LMAO these little guys are a ton o fun. one of my favorite fish ive kept to date!!!
