Can i get pics of african set ups

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Right now i have just 2 eletric labs, and a frostoan, i hav ethe frotsoan in there because i dont wnat him to get taken out by my oscar, so im waiting, but dam does he dig alot. Electrics i know take time to grow, but who knows i really want a african tank. For rock i would put a slate, a thinner stone and build caves out of it with a darker bottom most likly i would go with a gravel. I have a nice size sunrise pea-cock but i cant get a good pci of it.

That is Finin Nice

I do like Noreaster's setup, nice rock piles.

I went with rocks too along with some driftwood and dreaded plastic plants to add some color.

The big challenge for me was to try and stack rocks to the surface - as recommended - without the rocks leaning on the glass. A 55 gal tank is so thin. So I built a hard plastic background with a honeycombed back, so I have something to spread the weight out.

I used eggcrate too and siliconed the big foundation rocks to it before adding gravel.

Which africans did you want to put in there? Because about the only africans that will work in a 20long are smaller Lake Tang fish like shellies or multis.
Assuming that "multis" was meant to imply N. multifasciatus, those are shellies.

the guy just asked for African tank pics, thats all! He didnt ask for input, or a lecture on what cichlids to keep in 20L.
... and now that he has posted which fish are in that 20L, THAT TANK'S TOO SMALL LONG TERM!!! Then again, the trend on this site seems to be people keeping fish in tanks that are too small for them ...

For the labs, I'd suggest lots of rock. For the peacock, I'd suggest a mix of rock and some more open sandy areas, and for the front I'd suggest even less rock and more room to move around.

I'd also suggest a 4' tank minimum for the caeruleus and peacock. The front, well how about 4'x1.5' footprint or larger.

Well right now i have eletric yellow labs in the tank, the tank is tempary

These tanks are really looking great.. lots of color and very nice lighting to show it off,{good Pic}

By the way thank you for the compliments, my wife and I take turns decorating we usually re arange the rockwork every month.

and due to an abundance of granite that is what we use and it looks great under water

Due to myself not listening to others I bought a couple kenyi that wreaked havoc and killed half the inhabitants and then another third of the introduced fish.

I gave one to a friend who put him in with a jack dempsy and the kenyi molested the jack who was three times his size so bad he just did away with it.

I now have the other kenyi in his own 5.5 gallon and he tries to bite whateveer comes near his tank even the dogs tail.

Is that normal for a kenyi BYW ??
