Look ok, please shut up this has not a lot to do with my thread i asked if it was possiable to keep two arows together, not wot size tank ONE arow needs, and i bet you have tanks smaller than what a fish needs dont you???
JACKOSCAR said:actually no i don't.....All my fish have their own tank.. I just bought a 135 for my FH who is 5" right now in a 80 gallon. I have a 4"GT in his own 55. A 3.5" Umbee in a 180 by itself and am buying a 350 this summer if it ends up being a male. And finally i have a Pink Convict in a 29gallon by itself. I give all my fish the appropriate housing so dont bring me down to your level Rust. Its just my opinion, and i apologize for thrashing your thread. I just see alot of people on here with huge fish in small tanks and i'm a firm believer that you should buy a big tank before you buy fish that get huge. Big tanks are very expensive and require alot of money to set them up. And to buy i fish that gets big enough that it needs a 2000+ dollar aquarium is a big responsibility and a financial commitment. People always say ohh i'll get a bigger tank when it needs it yet who has the room or the money to have a 400gallon aquarium in there home. Its a small amount of people that can do whats proper yet there is a large amount of people on this site with Silver Arowana's. But Rust you have made a commitment now with your aro so i hope you follow through and house it properly.

If you're not here to help answer the question "Can I keep 2 Arows in..." then please stay out of this thread. We all know your point on tanks and not everyone is like you. Shockingly there are people that buy a fish first and think of a tank afterwards. If you really want to make your point well voice out, you should go around all the Petcos and Petsmarts and wait in the fish section until you hear people making comments like "I'm gonna put 3 clown knifes and 2 silver arowanas in my 10G" and then you can voice out and stop them, but as for now let the man enjoy his fish. Like I said before, all we can do it suggest a larger tank but u can't force it on him. So let's leave it at that.
BTW here are pics of a big Asian Arowanas. Tell me if you think that is 2ft or smaller.

T1KARMANN said:i would say that aro is about 23.5inch (deep)![]()
JACKOSCAR said:Damnit i've stepped on the wrong toes....Sorry T.......Also those aro's are obviously wild which has alot to do with why they are so massive. I was just saying i've never heard of an asia or aussie aro getting over 2ft. in an aquarium but you see silvers and blacks easily hitting 3ft. all the time in aquariums. And also i'm not trying to force anything on anyone. I can understand people who are new to the hobby grabbing monster fish at petco for a small tank but when an experienced hobbiest does it then its wrong IMO............. Apologies to anyone i offended but the truth of irresponsible MFK'S needed to be heard...
T1KARMANN said:it all depends which type of asian aro you are talking about gold asian aros grow to 24-26inch in a tank but red asian aros grow much larger and can easy reach 30inch in a tank
i to hate the way people buy very large fish saying that they will get a bigger tank when they need to as 99.9% of the time it never happens and my moto is always buy the biggest tank you can 1st then think about stocking it
but everyone has to start some were and what was the size of the 1st tank you had and i bet at some point you had a fish that was going to out grow the tank it was being kept in we have all done it
