depending on what types of filter media you have loaded in there, those filters should be sufficient, more is always better. people usually try to turn over 10x their tank volume per hour, but with good quality canisters, you should be fine with 3-4x turnover, especially with young piranhas.

you also need to factor in the water change schedule. if you have a good water change schedule then your filtration wont be quite as crutial. i change out an average of 50% a week on my rhoms tank.

you might get 5 but start with 7 because you're bound to have some eaten up

Personally I like what XR suggested af far as stocking goes....
Hell I run a tank with over 70+ 3 inch reds in it......

One can move the rest/problematic ones out down the road....

But as a rule-It's 20 gal per Pygo

for water changes i was thinking about 25 percent weekly is this enough

that may work while the fish are small. i would suggest more though.

I think that the best option for figuring out a water change schedule is to test the water and make sure that whatever you are doing is keeping the ammonia and nitrites at 0 ppm and the nitrates low. Just find whatever works for you.

I generally do 2 or 3 25% water changes per week, but that's just me.
