can i keep an arrowana (with PICS!!!)

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Really? Care to explain how this is going to happen?

plants and bio media will take out nitrates thats just one of there functions why do you think people put bio media in their tanks. the bacteria on them in so many words eats them and takes them out of the tank. that is why a tank with a good mio system will not have nitrate spikes and other parameter spikes

yes, i will definatly re-home a lot of the fish when i do move marrowana into the big tank, i try to maintain the best possible living conditions for my fish, however i will be a bit sad because i dont of of anyone in my area with a big tank that could take good care of them, i have also had a lot of them for 10+ years !

this is a more current picture, for your viewing pleasure, you can see one of the two tinfoil barbs i rescued here, they look great with my cigar sharks ! The bigger blue botia in the bottom left corner was my first fish and is pushing 13 years old, he is starting to show signs of old age now though :( does anybody know how long they live ?

Yes plants will consume nitrates bio media will not. Nor will the bacteria that inhabit the bio-media, actually the bacteria creates nitrates through the consumption of ammonia, then nitrites. Not familiar with a "mio" system, something you just made up? You should get a better understanding of the nitrogen cycle as it pertains to aquariums before you give anymore advice on the subject.

this is very very nice tank,i would love to have one like this if i have the space( imagin what fish i can keep!!lol),yes you can keep any kind of arowana for life
