NO it will kill any and all Bacteria because any bacteria is bad!!

What about the bacteria that eats the poop? If you don't have that kind you will have to get a sucker-fish.

I would just put the ray in with the kois that way you don't have to buy a new tank and it will have some friends in there. The ray will eat the poop from the kois too because the poop goes to the bottom and thats where the ray lives. You won't even have to feed the ray.
