Ya I hear ya man, you got to do what you got to do.

i just wanted a huge looking tank ya know

ya, just make sure that when you do the build it can be removed easily, from the current house and moved to the next. And if and when you build this thing, you should Overkill on the strengh of the tank and stand also, as it will be moved around and you want it holding up with all the extra moving.

what about keeping this tank out side, is that possible at all.

I guess its possible, but it would get blazing hot in the summer. my 800g pond hits the low to mid 90s

ya, you could build some sort of cover for it like like a fish shack or something, and you can make a Mega Powerful Nitrate and Phosphate Remover - DIY! http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=180385 for the water.

as far as the heat, you can come up with a system to cool the water, you could have a small refrigerator that has some copper pipes running through it on a loop with the filter to cool the tank down, and with the overhead cover it wont be in direct sunlight.

I think it just comes down to what kind of work your willing to do, I mean your moving in 3 years and what if the next place you go to you cant fit it into the house.

And I know how the household shipping works, you know your going to have to get all your dream fish then watch them grow up then have to get rid of them because there sending you to a new duty station.

but any how, there is no limit what you can do, but there will be sacrifices.

yea, well when i change duty stations i move myself, i dont let the Navy move for me. and im going to keep the hieght under 30" now so i can fit it through a standard doorway

Sounds good, I'll be looking out for you to see how your plan turns out, good luck dude!

what about 8x4x2?
