I know you guys feel for the fish, but you guys are harsh! this guy came here for advice and you bashed him. While I agree he should get a larger tank or smaller fish, thats no excuse to have a go at this guy like this. HE DID COME HERE AFTER ALL. Which is a hell of alot more than some hobbiest do.

Shanky, we all got to start somewhere. I comend you for sticking to this thread through the bashing, and your decision to downsize the fish in the 10gal. good luck on this tank and your next one.
i appreciate that m8 ! thanx alot !!! :headbang2:D

not trying to be a dick, but i got one question i can't seem to figure out the answer to: if you didnt know they get big (a.k.a. monsters), why are you on MFK?

i had 2 oscars in a 55 once. they seemed ok, but i got rid of them. i actually just wanted the tank, but ended up having to take the fish, too.

where did you hear BGK get up to 36"?

he probably did some research about oscars and landed here???
some of u guys need to chillax. not because u have big tanks now and big fish doesnt mean u can go bash at a guy who has no clue yet on what hes doing.
im glad hes taking it okay, if it was me i wudve never came back here again.

whatever happened to those early days when i joined and everyone seems to talk and give advise very nicely.

ypu know guys when I first joined this site and fish keeping about 2yrs ago. One guy blasted me for saying I had a Bichir in a 10 gallon and told me I must get ride of it. Well you know that little 5" Bichir is going into his 210 gallon aquarium in a week.

My point is, people can upgrade. But you don't have to go find and resolve this problem in 24hrs. I mean how many of you decided to find, buy a COMPLETE setup all within 24hrs. Lighten up, these are 1.5" "tiny" oscars.. I think they would make it a week in this take without stunting and killing them. They cannot grow THAT fast. Give this guy a chance to make it right without flaming him. Flame him enough and he'll leave the forum and not look back. Dont think thats the best for anyone.

LOl... I do agree with you that such a tank is really really small for them to even survive in it.

Learn't it the hard way trust me.

Sorry for the stupid pics. I had this setup for hardly sometime you know and I really appreciate and love these fish so I do really care about them. I had these tiny oscars till they were like 4 inches in size and then since I couldn't keep them anymore as it wasn't right, I gave it to the LFS guy who has a 50 - 70 gal I can't exactly remember.

So you see we learn from our mistakes and I don't believe we have to learn it by the deaths of our beloved fishes.

I know I've made a fool of myself by uploading those pics but what the heck! I'm still learning and I've learn't alot in due course of time. For example I don't even consider having a TSN or an RTC if I'd like as it's available easily but I don't have big enough tank to keep em. I hope that makes some sense. :)

Thanks mate. I've figured out some things and believe me I don't have the same setup now. I just have one Green Terror in my 20gal and it's a juvenile. Going to upgrade really soon. :D

Yeah it sure does take a lot of time :)

take it easy fallenangelshanky.
dont mind them bashers too much...
"ohhh i have big tanks and big fishes, u have a small tank u dont deserve to have a fish or be here in MFK!! yada yada yada..." pricks.

Every one starts somewhere and people need to sometimes think before they flame, I have left a couple of sites because I have seen people get flamed for asking questions others thought stupid. This is how people learn and I have found this site very informative and with lots of helpfull people!
