Can someone ID my Catfish?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
If I am not mistaken, there is no L number for rhino plecos. They are also called alligator pleco and chocolate pleco.

Okay so the pleco that you picked up is a "Common Pleco" or Pterygoplichthys pardalis L021.
The one that is next to it is a "Gold Spot Pleco" or Pterygoplichthys joselimaianus L001.
The other large one that is upside down grazing on the décor is a "Sailfin Pleco" or Pterygoplichthys gibbiceps L083.
All different sp. The one in the back I cannot see so I can't tell you what it is or if it even is a pleco.

+1 Yeah, no rhino here, just your regular ole' common pleco.

Unfortunately I contacted the guy who sold him to me he told me he is a chocolate Pleco, he showed me another he had next to a common Plecoand they are different.

Thanks for the posts but he is a chocolate/rhino Pleco

For starters he is chocolate brown in color with dark brown markings, not the makings of an L21

Answered my own question!

Another vote for a large, really skinny common pleco. You seem to have a lot of faith in the guy who sold him to you....over pay or something? Plenty of commons get dark and lose their patterns like yours.
