My brother was telling me today that people can catch fluke.... Never had this that I know of in my tanks but I'm just wondering, is this true?! I figured because of body temp and such that people would not have to worry about fish parasites or any kind of fish diseases..... Are there any fish ailments that can affect humans or is my little bro pulling my leg?! Just curious!!!

i know for sure you can catch fish turburculosis....and i have gotten a couple bacterial infections before. (i work in a mom and pop fish store over the summers) that kinda sucked.
Really?! What kind of bacterial infection?! On my smaller tanks i just use one of those cheap vacs that I'll just suck on to get it started..... Don't get water in my mouth but is this bad? Just have a little one and it's perfect cause it doesn't siphon the water out so quickly that I don't get a chance to clean all the grave before the bucket is full......

As much water as I have swallowed by doing water changes in my pre-teens I figure I am immune to these....LOL. As a youngster I would also spend my days in the ditch behind my house that fed our local lake. I would be in waist deep with cast net in hand(lead weights in mouth) looking for my next addition to my tanks. If I saw my son doing that today I would beat him...LOL
