one of the fangs, if not both, will find a way between the scales.

I suggest you let the snake loose. Do everybody, the Gar, the snake, us fish and herp lovers, a favour.

I don't think so Miguel... Gars scales are overlapping and even on a small fish thick. It is pretty much impossible to find a space between scales.

Going to agree wholeheartedly with your last statement there. Just do all right and just let it go.

I was not awaree of such overlapping in Gar escalation. In any case, recent studies have show the penetration capacity of several venomous snakes bites, with Cobras ( particularly Kings ) way in the lead. Even special designed protection gloves are not fool proof.

thanks for all your comments..
Well,i fed the snake to the gar, sorry if that offends anybody.
Anyways,as said, the snake was reall small and the gar was a foot long,so it was only like gar was eating an earthworm..an earthworm that can swim well.hehe!
The snake seemed to died out of drowning.when the gator bit it,it dived down then a few munch.the snake was already dead when the gar swallowed it.
I was not able to get a video,sorry..
Again,my apologies to those offended..

i find the following paragraph pretty applicable with regards to the whole thread...i mean, really, what's the point of asking a question if you're not going to bother about the responses from people more experienced, and based on your actions, intelligent than you?

just change "buying" to "trying something foolish"

An unfortunate trend I’ve noticed about people researching before buying a fish or attempting a combination is that they have already made a decision prior to doing research or asking questions. These people will discard all evidence or responses that are contradictory to their decision, and instead jump on the first response that compliments it (their decision) – no matter how unreliable. This is really an asinine thing to do, so if you are going to post or ask questions, do so with an open mind and be aware that there are members who work with these fish on a professional level who really know their stuff.

Very well put, Xander.

Now I will close this absurd thread, because there is no point in continuing the discussion and the pleas for the OP not to do what could have gone wrong.
