To be honest m8 i wouldnt have used the tarp i would of went for a double liner, thats what im going for, folded twice, its gotta be stronger and has to hold, as we are playing with alot of water here ;)

No doupt about any of these projects, any ones worst nightmare is a floor full of water and bouncing fishys ;)

Tell me about it!

At least if anything bad does happen the conservatory is at a lower level than the rest of the house and there is a drain in it under the carpet so i just have to worry about having wrecked one room:nilly::ROFL:

When i thought tarps were waterproof there was going to be 3 'waterproof' layers. The plans had to change as it's gone and a lot of it has been financially reasoned as money is short. Yes 2 liners then the tarp would have been preferable than it is now. But i'm hoping as it's a good quality thick liner, it's not against anything sharp, there's no risk of roots or moles or anything like that trying to pop up through it like there would outdoors, and the tarp protects it from teeth on the inside that there's very little risk of anything punching a hole in it. If i've not built something larger in a couple of years i may look at giving it a thorough service and installing a second liner then when i can better afford it.

The other reason for wanting the blue tarp remember was so the fish show up, where's dark fish on a black background don't show up so well. I did try and hunt for blue liners but all i could find were swimming pool ones which required specialist installation.

Cut 3 strips of tarp, one for each window. Only used one on the end window that'd come away the most as the other 2 were still right on the frames.

Used the liner sealant to stick everything back down and tack the new strip on. Deliberately left gaps this time so water can get behind it to even the pressure and stop it pulling. the sealer can set underwater and is non toxic so going to throw the hose in while i take up some paving slabs and try and get some feeling back in my feet!

cant wait to see it full:popcorn:

Just to show how un-optomistic i'm feeling, the pump goes in ready to empty it then i start filling it.

Bubble wrapped covered bricks in the corners to keep the tarp from rising as water gets behind it.

Water slowly rises. Stopped filling an inch above the bottom of the frame, so far everything on the outside is dry:D:headbang2 water depth is now at 10,5 inches and the glass has started to go underwater.

The black of the liner shows a little through the tarp where that is now wet on both sides. Small pump left in to circulate the water rather than it just being sat there, and also ready running if any leaks show up and it needs a quick empty.

Need to go clean the muck off the paving slabs now, would be more enjoyable if it wasn't so cold outside!:(

Hmmm ok then, now we need pics of it full orrrrrr a soaking wet floor and no electricity at all, i noticed the extension right next to that window  black to black and blue to bits m8 hahaha

Not that im a jynx or anything but safty 1st ;)

You'd never think i was an electronic engineer would ya;):ROFL:I did think of moving that lot......it is just tempting it to leak really isn't it? maybe i'll think about moving it tomorrow!:WHOA::nilly::ROFL:

If i still have a dry floor and a working hi-fi in the morning when i get back from work i'll top it up some more. Plus pick up some more power leads and drop some heaters in to start bringing it up to temperature.

Edit: Did you just see the extension in the first pic? look through the glass in the 3rd from last pic as well (don't judge me!)

  i would love to own an island even if it were 2x2 lol

You are a dangerous man satan but my kinda dangerous :D

I've worked with water cooled electronic equipment before so kinda get used to what expect (High voltage + water = i've been shocked a lot!) Me and my dad are in similar fields of work, mrs satan thinks we're proper cowboys when we start working on something around the house and wants nothing to do with it! Probably best, nearly dropped the dish washer on my head a couple of weeks ago.......:nilly:

When i think about it, i really have done some dangerous stuff in my time!
