Sorry for whoring up the forums tonight guys, but I'm pretty bummed and this place is quickly become my salvation. Anyway, I'm looking to run 2-3 canister filters for my new tank-if I ever get it. Eheim is always an option, but their output and price seem less appealling with every passing day. I'm looking for a reputable filter that is reliable, quiet, and relatively inexensive. A DIY wet/dry isn't really an option because I don't have time for the headache. THe tank in mind is 180g, if that helps.

Filstar any good?

Hey bro, I appreciate trying to help me out. Let me get a tank first. But a question. I've been reading reviews online and they seem to conflict each other. A lot of guys say the filters are quiet, while others say they sound like a washing machine? Your take?

I can't really hear the XP3's, I would say no louder then a refrigerator... but you should hear one of my 1500gph pumps...it'll drive you crazy.

If you decide to take a little time I can give you some easy instuctions to build a wet/dry but it's your call.

Hope this helps. and dont worry about whoring it up Ive dun it before.

No hard feelings but.... HAVE YOU LOST YOUR MIND? :screwy:

I have had both and thats why I have 3 canister filters that I used for 4 months and now they sit empty.

I don't know what peoples obsesion with canisters are.....wet/drys will take a lot higher bio load and they filter the water much better.

I know this is just my opion but I'm right ....... :hitting:
