Can't catch a fish

I ask because when you target one, you'll catch something else. Example, the only time I catch bass is when I go after gar. Maybe this is the luck he is having. Going for anything and catching nothing. Lol

People around here complain about catching bowfin when going for bass.

I actually want to catch a bowfin, but nothing. Not one bowfin in all the years I've lived here....
I dunno what I'm doing wrong going for bowfin, and I dunno what those people are doing wrong going for bass, because if I fish for bass I catch bass, and if I fish for bowfin I catch....bass...
Maybe I need to go fish with someone that catches bowfin looking for bass, and we can trade fish

got this from a magazine, might help if your chx livers keep falling off the hook

"Toughen up chicken livers for catfish bait by packing them in a coffee can between layers of non-iodized salt. Store the can in refrigerator for about a week, and the livers will tougen up to the consistency of leather. They'll stay on the hook better and never spoil."

I've yet to try this but will when I get the chance. Typically I dip shrimp into the chicken liver and toss that out. Works well for me so far
