Can't catch a fish

Make your own dough baits for cats I use pumpkinseed garlic minnows some gold fish. Some old rotting tilapia or shrimp and some flour and water. Blend everything up in a old blender and make a dough like texure out of it. Let sit in the sun for a few weeks. (Warning it smells horrible)

almost nothing works better than fresh cut fish. Buy some shad or something from the bait shop and cut it into chunks and fish a carolina rig on the bottom. Cast it far out, if it doesnt work dont cast as far. If you can fish several rods, try different areas. Channel cats will bite all times of the day. I caught a dozen in an hour last week in the middle of the day on shad chunks.

4: use two hook rig, one in nose, other in end near cut
5 cast into a deeper hole or drop off

Some good advice on this thread, but I think the most important question is are there even catfish in the lakes your fishing?

there is no reason to use a two hook rig

Chabot has some monsters in there. You just have to be patient and use right bait. Night and early are best options. Use treble hooks for your chicken liver. The stinkier the better. Make sure your weight isn't close to bait cause if catfish feels the resistance of the weight too soon they may spit out your bait. Good luck

They all have nice cats in them. and nice ones too. The bay is where we got it for cheap...YEEEE

people who post all these crazy things about catfishing can just be plain silly. The best rig is a sliding sinker carolina rig and a fresh cut bait. it will outproduce these 1000 times over.
