
1: get cast net
2: catch small fish (creek chubs, greenies 5-8")
3: cut fish in half, use half with the head
4: use two hook rig, one in nose, other in end near cut
5 cast into a deeper hole or drop off
6: profit

Some good advice on this thread, but I think the most important question is are there even catfish in the lakes your fishing?
almost nothing works better than fresh cut fish. Buy some shad or something from the bait shop and cut it into chunks and fish a carolina rig on the bottom. Cast it far out, if it doesnt work dont cast as far. If you can fish several rods, try different areas. Channel cats will bite all times of the day. I caught a dozen in an hour last week in the middle of the day on shad chunks.
