I hate to post something like this but it's been bothering for a few months. There is a Genus of fish, ancient I'm almost certain. There is very little written about them and almost never talked about. There are two species in this genus and if I'm not mistaken they are from South Africa. Not the biggest fish possibly around a foot. I know that they are pretty endangered and that's all I can remember. I know this may be something dumb to post but if someone can help I know it's MFK members. Any who can help +18 brownie points. Thanks. P.S. Any relatively unknown ancient species no one talks about would be a delight as well.

Sorry. I believe completly Fresh, it's possible a bit of brackish but doesn't ring a bell. It's not the Coelacanth either lol I Could be wrong about the South Africa part but I'm positive it's not from S. America. I remember the genus name isn't that long and a T or an N feels like the start of the Genus. Both species are realtivly morphologically different. More like the relationship between Ornate/Endlicheri Bichir than Florida/Short-Nose Gar

Only species I can think of is African Arowana, African Knife fish.:) pm Member Oddball I bet you he probably knows .:)
