they grow quick from that size will surprise you

Awsome! Never been so excited on getting a fish! But these f*ckers are so cool! Also orderd 4 WC Crenicichla Regani from Tabajos river. Along with my three Heros Notatus that should make a cool fish setup! Also getting some Tetras (Hyphessobrycon erythrostigma) a bunch of 30 or so tomorrow, if theyll get eaten later so be it.

These guys have been voracious eaters since day 1. I feed them NLS Cichlasoma Formula pellets, Redworms, Brine shrimp and mix a variety of other pelleted and frozens foods a couple times a week. They eat anything I throw into the tank. I keep them with some wild caught Hoplarchus psittacus also from Columbia and a couple of odd ball silver dollars.

Yeah man they are not really aggressive towards other types of fish which they cannot fit in their mouths. You don't want to put them with anything to aggressive though because if they fight by locking lips like most cichlids they mouth can get damaged badly due to it's ability to be extended it's not as strong as an Umbee's Jaw is. I kept them with many many types of fish and never had any issue from them. They hate each other though and it's hard to keep them together once they reach around 4-5'' size. You need a big tank and will be lucky to get 3-4 of them to kill out and tolerate each other. It works for a while but watch them. Even in like a 240 gal 3-4 max in something like that if your lucky once they are of good size. But let me tell you once they are off good size you will be in love with them. The colors they bring to the table are hard to rival. Gold and black body, red eyes, and electric blue fins now how can you beat that hahahahha

Good luck bro post updates
