Caquetaia myersi

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Let me know if you even get any breeding activity going on. Just curious mine never went into any type of signs of this and had them over two years. However sexing them is damn near impossible lol. I just found it odd because I had them in optimal set ups good luck bro

For sure man. I dont think theyre ready yet! Need to grow a few inches more!

So, picked up the fish today! Theyre absolutely awsome! Unfortunatly lost one. It looked kinda sad in the bag aswell and it just sunk to the bottom when I put it in the aquarium... The other four looks super healthy though! The Regani pikes are also very Active and nice lookin! (will only post pics of the Myersi in this thread check out the "pike Project from sweden thread for more pics).View attachment 959623View attachment 959624View attachment 959625

Very nice .. keep us posted .

Well.... I have had to seperate mine for the time being. They have went through a pretty significant groth spurt and the largest are about 4.5-5" . My largest , which I am fairly certain is a male has always been the dominate one has decided he does not want any of his kind in his tank. He does not mess with any of the other fish in tank I have a trio of large True Parrots with him. I have seen these kept in groups before but I am now thinking that they are going to ned no less than 8ft long tank to coexist and the tank is going to have to be heavily populated. Fortunatly I have several 150gallon tanks and I was able to seperate mine before any major damage was done. I am still not going to give up keeping these guys in a group. I am looking for a 300g tank and hopefully I can reintroduce these guys together. If not I will grow them large enough to get a male and female and breed them through a partition. He is a pic of my trouble maker.....

Really. Mine are about the same size. I have 4 in a 140 gallon. Seems to work out so far... Keep them with fullgrown heros Notatus which are really the meanest fish in there so far.

Perhaps the terror balance will change when my Myersi becomes the same size, and then start to pick more on eachother...

I think I have a dominant male in the group. The others left each other alone it was just him pounding the others. However they were fine until a couple of weeks ago and I have some 6+" Banded Silver dollars as dithers and he still went after the others. Situations like these are why I enjoy the challenge of Keeping SA/CA cichlids. In another one of my tanks I have pairs of Tri-Macs and RTMs with a rescued Oscar all of the around 6-7" and the Oscar rules the tank. Good Luck.

Well... I guess things are starting to happen now in my tank aswell...

My dom-male are really picking on the other three alot more then before.

Im preparing myself to return 3 of them to my lfs.

Keeping one is good enough. Didnt have plans on breeding anyway.
