My expert here at home calls that a ratchet shifter for drag racing and has used one on a crashbox transmission. He would not recommend using one for everyday use on a 'normal' domestic car.

What were you planning on using it for or do you already have one?

A ratchet shifter is used on an automatic trans, thus there is NO clutch!

I would be an everyday summer car
What negative effect could using it every day cause?
