Cat growth thread

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Vulture will stop going nuts for feed after around 12", so it'll become far more manageable. Static jurs at any age feed less, both in the amount and frequency so it's not that critical that they, like energizer bunny vulture, eat often.

Agreed, I will try to remember and make this the custom for myself. So to clarify in post #45 I meant jaguar cichlid.

Thanks, Moe, for not telling me to go stick my tongue elsewhere, haha... I am as lazy or lazier than anyone but I hate confusion more than I hate typing :D

Either way im pretty sure the vulture is here to stay. I can see it getting named eventually. I think you called that when i was researching them. Can we settle on jaguar cats lol ?

Quick update on the crew. All are doing well. The jur is a really cool fish i love the perching its such an odd behavior. He/she also started tong feeding which i like. Now i KNOW its getting its share. It wont eat anything besides chopped shrimp when do you guys think i ahould start playing hard ball with it and fprce it to take a variety of foods ?

The vulture and jaguar catfish are gluttons hahah.

Got the idea of putting the jaguars cats hide close to the front of the tank from thebiggerthebetter thebiggerthebetter pretty cool that i always get to see them.Screenshot_20170712-172621.png Screenshot_20170711-225013.png Screenshot_20170711-224634.png Screenshot_20170711-224617.png

Wow, those jag stomachs are enormous! Lol. I used to do the same thing with the hiding spots with my eels.

On a side note, I got some pictures of my vultures next to a tape measure:

Both are about 10" to the tip of their tail. The angles of the pictures make it look like the front of the tape measure isn't aligned, but I assure you it is.

They look great bro. How is there personality towards each other ? What size did you get them rapps has them listed at 6 i think. Mine was 3.5 but no way i can get a decent measurement as the fish is a bundle of nerves and never sits still unless its under the dw

They mostly just lay on top of each other and often swim in the current next to each other. They don't pay any mind to my fire eels, even when the eels swim all over them. They still tuck into a corner whenever the lights are on.

When I got them from Rapps, I think they were advertised as about 4-5". However, when I got them, one was easily 6-7" and the other was probably 5-6". Now, they are within a half an inch of each other.

Well since you know he's eating I'd start now. It's supposed to be easy when they're young.

Some people put the pellets in whatever the fish is accepting first to get them used to the taste. But I don't think you'll have a problem getting it to eat
