Oh, I didnt see your location. I'm just wondering if they are still active in early spring up here in NC. It's been in the low 50s to mid 60s here lately.

Sink finger mullet with wire liter let it get a good bite plus a run than set hook hard

Today went awful. I couldn't even catch bait in the three hours I was there. The water was up so the current was really strong. I also got my cast net ripped on a stump or something. All I caught was a small channel cat on a zoom u tailed worm. I'm Gunna keep trying though.

Don't give up I have faith in you. If you are using a trap just bring bait with you so you don't waste 3 hours trying to catch it.

Yeah, I'm going to try again tomorrow. I'll go to my bait creek first to get some chubs and sunnies for bait. It will be warmer and the water should be down a little more.

I am not sure about were you are but maybe you can use a mask and snorkel. Just move slow a when you see a bowfin drop a net or trap with bait in it. Or bring s net which you can scope it, this might be harder though.

It won't work this time of year. It's cold in NC right now. That is a good idea though if I don't have one by summer. It will be a good way to find the good flathead hole too. There are some monster cats in that small river/big creek. I've caught a 42 pounder in it.
