I think its a featherfin

what temp is ur 10 gal at and what temp is ur 55 gal at???
if its a big difference this is prolly ur best bet..
do u have a spare heater??? u could always tank ur heater out of ur main tank itll b fine for a while....
then put ur featherfin ina decent sized bucket with a good amount of ur 10 gal tank
water, keep the water aeriated some how mayb an airstone, hes gunna use up that oxygen fast..
then add some fresh water make sure its the 10 gals temp, add enuff to submerge the heater an then slowly bring the temp to match ur 55....
then add him to ur tank u prolly dont wanna mix the goldfish water with ur 55 gal bad idea...thats the best way i can think of to not stress and shock him into dieing by the switch...
also catch him with a cup not a net hell tear it apart and u might break some of his spines if u u se a net..
and make sure u catch him with a cup

I dont even have any water in the 55 gal yet. Is water temp all that I need to be concerned about? My 10 gal is currently held at 75 F. I think that I can get the 2 tanks to be pretty close so that I can just take him out of the 10 and directly into the 55. I dont see any reason to acclimate unless someone can explain the best way to do this. He is pretty fast...I dont know that catching him with a cup will be very easy.

u gotta or ull b tryin to pick his fins out of the net for a half hour....get idk half a 2 liter bottle and get him..its 10 gals he cant run 2 far.....
an 75 degrees thats fine....
ur biggest issue now is goin to b that its a fresh 55 gal an it needs to b cycled...
idk if u use live plants but a good way to boost ur tanks cycle is to add some cheapo plants and maybe some black skirt tetras(there like impossible to kill) atleast thats what i do....some kind of cycle starter or water conditioner with bio bacteria will help to, there like $4 for a little bottle..also do 2 or 3 20-25 percent water changes every week for the first month or so...the more the better, fish love new water, they grow larger, healthier and prettier with the more new water u give them

Get your 55 set up for a few weeks, then move him. Feed lightly at first, and keep an eye on the ammonia. If you see any, do a 50% water change (you do do those, right? Just asking couse you said you were a noob, no shame in that, glad you wanna learn!) When you move him, put him into a 1 gallon glass jar with water, and float it in the 55 for about a half hour or so, and then release him.
Good luck! Provide lots of rockwork for your africans and synodontis cat, and plenty of filtration and water changes.

I am planning on running a single AC110 and a powerhead with a sponge on the intake.

That works and as said set up the 55gal cycle it, than add fish I disagree with fish cycling as it puts the fish in dangerous toxin levels....And BTW how many goldfish do you have in that 10gal?
