Suncats should be fine in an aquarium like the one suggested. Mine do tend to hide during the day but during feeding time they come out ro squabble a little and eat a lot. Mine are 12" and 11.5" measured out of water. They are close to 4-5 years old now. Got them at 2". They tend to fight each other from tine to time as well. I have one male and one female. they are beautiful fish but if you are looking for activity and interaction you may want to go with an ornate as suggested. Suncats are spastic at best imo as far as activity goes. They hide one min and the next will be out battling.

Yeah I really like the top picture above of the Chrysichthys ornatus....the pim looks nice too though...I have always liked the look of flatheads and channel cats...think thats why I like the sun cats too. Do suncats prefer to be with another suncat? Just curious if I could get a couple sun cats and a Chrysichthys ornatus...I'm thinking that may be pushing it though but curious what you guys think.
or would 2 or 3 ornate be ok together? Wasn't sure how aggressive they are to each other if at all.
Thanks for everyones input and help too! Appreciate it!
Also is there anyplace online to buy Chrysichthys ornatus? The lfs around here are terrible and don't carry much so I wasn't sure if there was a good place online for catfish.
Actually, how many could I keep in the tank i'm planning on getting? Looking at them a little bit closer...they seem like cool cats...the only issue would be tank mates lol...planning on keeping a couple oscars too.
12inch max size gulper could attempt a 12inch almost max size oscar, ive heard they can do prey as large as them selves correct me if im wrong?? ornate pims can cohabit theres a few videos on youtube they are rare here in the uk though i paid around 50 dollars in your money for mine! suncats and ornate pims would be cool with a few nice oscars... i have a 12inch suncat aswell!-) mines very active 90% of the time heres a pic of him with my midas
