Alright, calm down, calm down. I agree with Teleost that you shouldn't have kept the trout, but I also agree, the effect was minimal. Just don't do it on a continual basis.

Umm.. wtf... don't it on a continual basis... how about don't do it EVER.

If you haven't a clue as to what a fish is... take a picture.... don't potentially take an illegal fish home, be it a trout or a protected species.

I agree, he shouldn't do it again, and it wasn't a good thing to do in the first place. I just meant that he shouldn't be flamed for it, he should learn from the mistake and we can all move on.

i would never feed anything that was from the wild to my aquarium fish.. they have completly different set of diseases and carry different parasites that you can introduce to your aquarium fish.

Dude it was two fish.
If every man, man woman and child only took two fish.............

I wanted you all to ID them for me.
Take photos or buy a book.

This stream pretty much dries up every year and anything stuck in these pools die anyway.

hmmm...well wild trout seen to like to spawn in it. And since these are fish that will return year after year, it seem the fry have a good life here. Why rationalize the mistake?

Don't get your panties all up in a bunch. There is a way you can educate me without crying and being an ass.

If you wanted to be educated, you would have listened the first 50 times this issue has come up. I doubt me kissing your *** would have helped you listen this time.

I'd appreciate it if you either didn't post in here or try not to cause trouble.

I'd rather you do any one or more of the following: follow the law....buy an identification book before removing fish from the wild.....taking photos streamside or just using common sense.

I'd rather this thread not get closed.

I've not name called once here. I've not said anything other than "follow the law and respect both nature and the rules that we all must live by". If this thread gets closed, it's due to your name calling and petty behavior.

Just don't be so damn pissy.

Thanks for that. Why don't you just take a bunch of sturgeon home and feed them to your fish.

That must have taken some time to put that rant together. I think he gets it teleost. I am sure we all know how you feel. I don't like the situation either, but you could try using a bit more tact. A person has to respect you to learn from you.

Actually I'm pretty quick with my "rants" as you like to call them. I'm not so sure he gets it. He seems to rationalize his behavior even after being called on it.

Tact has been tried here dozens of times on this subject. I didn't call names, I merely pointed out the law. That simply isn't tactless.

Someone has to tell the emperor "he has no clothes".

I'm not trying to teach anyone. They should learn from books not me or the internet. I can only hope to point out the obvious from time to time and if I'm labeled as jerk.....I can live with that label.

i would totally agree that he had no idea of any of this, i am sure he was not thinking anything about law.. it is just a little creek behind his house... now he knows and that should be that..everyday we learn.......

In this case I WON'T go put my minnow trap in the stream. Crawdad trap yes...Minnow trap no.

I'd appreciate it if you either didn't post in here or try not to cause trouble. I'd rather this thread not get closed. I'm VERY open to your information ... I very much don't want to harm any wild habitat anywhere....I live for the outdoors...

Just don't be so damn pissy.

Derpeder I do have to say you have a nasty habit of collecting things without knowing what they are and then asking about them after you feed them to something...This is not so good dude...Especially where you are at..It is not a terrible expense for you to pick up a field guide or just practice catch, photo, release.

Really you need to ID what you are catching BEFORE not after you catch and kill them.. At this time when you say
I live for the outdoors...
you sound like one of those guys that thinks canned hunting and baiting deer to a feed spot for a hunt is sporting and challenging. You are not showing a very good Outdoors or conservation ethic with your actions. I'm not trying to be a total ass here I'm just telling you how you look and again pointing to what is a very frustrating habit of yours...

On the point of ephemeral streams (Temporary streams) These are common areas for young fish to grow out. The fish go down stream as it dries up they do not stay there and die with it.

Noted. But I think that people do learn here, I know I have. I started keeping fish with a walmart 10 gallon and a KOI. The most important thing that I have learned here is that being a jerk, even when you are right, gets you nowhere, and isn't beneficial to the community, the person you are trying to inform, or yourself. BTW, the internet is the new "book".

This is really none of my business but why can't you teach.. that is why we are all on MFK either to teach or learn and share.. you definitly have alot of knowledge to offer... you would never be labeled a jerk.. you are very smart but you just get too impatient..some of us take a little while to understand..
