wow, you are pathetic, your year here was wasted, you are not very observant.

My point is, if you have illlegal fish, and you are repsonsible, you do not release them into the wild, have you really hurt anybody..............I think not
Except for the entire industry trying to show that we can be responsible and no more legislation is needed to curtail the current problem? If piranhas are caught in Florida waters, it doesn't show that the hobbyists that keep them care for the law much.

half the folks on here including mods are keeping illegal fish in certain states............if you kept and destroyed it instead of releasing it, that would be fine.

I have kept many p's down here in South Texas, does that make me a troll?

I think your assumption of half of the people here is way off base. And whether or not you choose to break the law is up to you.

Wow amazing catch. Yes. I agree its probably a once in a life time catch.

I know few guys who fish all the time , have lived here for yrs and unlike me go all over S.Florida and never heard, seen or caught a piranha.. I asked lol.

I know this is ironic especially where he caught it but ...

I from Florida so we dont see Pirannaha down here .. just Pacu...

Yes ,I actually asked a few of my father in laws die hard fishing friends where I could possibly find one .

They have lived here for decades and said no such fish only pacu.

Varinus might have caught only one .

As a responsible hobbyist I did the right thing by destroying it, its people with your mindset and stupid way of thinking that got us into this dilemma with the bills being proposed by our wonderful govt. Do you think I am just some stupid kid? I have a family and career that I need to protect and going down for a stupid red belly piranha isnt my way of doing something that I know is wrong. So go troll somewhere else.

badda boom badda bing DOWN FOR THE COUNT :naughty:
from a moderator none the less :ROFL:

One shouldn't be criticized negatively for keeping a fish caught that is against state//federal bans, only for releasing a known threat back into the non native habitat.
But on the other end of the stick the person who decides to terminate that particular fish for legalities is no more wrong, it was just an execution of choice there were two "right" decisions, and only one wrong, which didn't happen. but before you criticize him on his decision to terminate you should keep in mind, he found the fish and was his decision to make.

whoa!

reminds me of my nile perch catch in northern florida few years ago- they were babies caught in the minnow trap when I was out fishing and of course they were killed. As there was alot of the suwannee bass fingerlings in the trap and I wanted the bass to succeed as much as they could without any possible competition-

its scary anyhow
