Don't think pure pbb have been done. If they have it would of been Kamihata jp way back cuz they had a nice batch. Not sure if it was 100% mom and dad were PBB. If possible, i'd just get the Chad PBB that everyone has.

Here's a pic of a wc and cb side by side. There's a difference.

Yeah the kamihata CB PBB were pure bred of PBB but I'm not sure if parents were both from Chad. I feel like one of the parent was Turkana caught. But I could be wrong.

Yeah CB PBB has definitely been done. I'm pretty sure there's some straight up Chad bred CBs. But I know that there was a Chad and Turkana bred because there was some controversy over them being sold as pure CB Turkana.

Even the finlets r not accurate man my old pbb had the same amount as my Nigerian lap did
I know it's not 100%, but like I said, it's the best way. You can interpret pattern, headshape, etc.., making it hard to distinguish if it's a PBB or not, but if the fish does have an amount of dorsal finlets that is above the amount laps have, it's a PBB. Also, if the fish has finlets less than the possible amount for PBB than its probably a lap. However it can get hard when the amount of finlets the fish has in is the middle of both ranges.

I havent seen a cb pbb for sale around the U.S.
Probably 9-10 its a lap, we dont know, take a pic so people here can see it, and can tell if its a pbb or lap.

Dr.B Dr.B i want to know how many finlets a PBB suppose to have, and the same thing for laps?

There was 2 @ 5" and 2 @ 4". Today one of the 5" one has sold already. Only three left they are selling fast!

Well to me it looks a whole lot like ur average cb. Nigerian laps but at the same time it looks a little bit diff .... So I'm not 100% on it but I counted 14 finlets .... Witch if I'm not mistaken is a lap count ..... But as dr. B said they r not always accurate with count
