Change of plans .... Maybe ?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I have just brought a few fish they are only around 1" -1+ 1/2" and are currently in a 55 and will all be transported to the 180 once it is cycled and set up properly.

4 red devils, all from different sources, so could get a pair.
1 Flowerhorn
1 convict (Will eventually end up with a pair "hopefully")
1 Jack Dempsey
1 Salvini

I know i will not be able to keep them all, the plan is to grow them for a while and see how it goes.

Wish me luck

What about african haps? They are very colorful and will get a long better than the ca. Fossochromis and tyrannochromis come to mind. Also coul do some nice synodontis cats in that 180. Angelicas comes to mind.

I had green terror with oscars and with convicts, oscar with bichirs, texas with siver dollars, and u have a 6x2x2 thats 180 gal. U can have about whatever u want in there. Single dovii sounds like an aweful waste of space IMO.

Interesting perspective, but honestly 180 gallons really isn't that big when you're talking about New World Cichlids. It's gonna be trial and error, and just because it works for now doesn't mean it'll work in a week. You can make a nice community in a 180 for sure, but the sky is not the limit.....

why not go with Lyonsi cichlids they are rare fish and look awsome and then work around that fish or pick a fish you wanna work around and do it that way
